Originally from the Annapolis, MD area, Roslyn has become a true New Yorker, having lived in the city for the majority of her life. She graduated from Rutgers Newark University with a degree in Economics. After graduation, Roslyn began her career with a local political organization in New Jersey while attending night school and participating in a career bootcamp through Dress for Success. This experience ultimately led her to Blend (formerly Consultants 2 Go).
When asked for her best advice for someone just starting out in their career, Roslyn states:
“I cannot emphasize the importance of building relationships, as you never know who you are speaking with or where a colleague may end up in the future.”
This philosophy has served her well; a former Consultants 2 Go employee on the Dress for Success panel connected Roslyn to her first opportunity in the financial services industry, where she has spent most of her career.
She began her career in financial services in 2015, joining the 'Voice of Client' team where she conducted customer sentiment analysis through NPS survey responses, social media, and customer complaint letters. She then transitioned to an agile program management role, where she played a key role in introducing and promoting agile methodology across the organization. Following this, Roslyn worked in global communications and as a product owner, managing digital payment partnerships with major players like Apple Pay, Google Pay, SamsungPay, and PayPal. Her career also includes a role at a smaller investment banking firm, where she focused on digital product management for asset management software.
Her expertise spans digital client experience, digital marketing, program management, and agile and scrum methodologies. Currently, she is working at a financial institution as a Project Manager in the Branded Cards and Lending Program Management Organization. In this role, she facilitates alignment and consensus across cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle, reports on project status, and serves as the “golden source of truth.”
Roslyn embodies resilience and faith, believing in moving forward despite adversity and trusting in a higher power to guide her path. She describes working with Blend as being among “a very positive group of people,” appreciating the flexibility, growth opportunities, and the variety of projects that allow her to develop diverse skill sets.
Roslyn draws career inspiration from several individuals: her father, a systems thinker and technologist, who inspired her with his work ethic and support despite long working hours; her maternal grandmother, a registered nurse who migrated from Jamaica, whose accomplishments despite lacking formal education greatly influenced Roslyn; and Oprah Winfrey, whom Roslyn admires and feels a personal connection to.
When asked what she enjoys most about her job and what she is most proud of throughout her career, Roslyn states that she enjoys working with smart people from all over the world, which has broadened her professional and personal perspective. She is most proud of her resilience in facing challenges such as order changes, difficult partnerships, and uncertainty during layoffs. She believes that her willingness to try new things has been key to her career growth.
Roslyn’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, the importance of relationships, and the value of diverse experiences in shaping a successful career.
